Women across the industrialised world battle with unspoken rules and dynamics that favour white men in the workplace. What is the reality of the glass ceiling in 2019?
LASIKATTO is an investigative film exploring the reality of working women from different occupations, statuses and countries.
Silicon Valley is not a friendly place for women, start-up founder Farah Brunache knows. Yet she is determined to find investors and venture capital for her all-female tech company.
Jin Hong broke her first glass ceiling when she became South-Korea's first female aviation mechanic. She wants to become head mechanic at Boeing but it is not easy in a place that is the most hostile country for the workingwoman in the industrialised world.
Mervi Lampinen has not been able reach the position of a board member or a CEO even though she has built an impressive career as a manager in some of the biggest IT companies in Central Europe.
Thelma Einarsdottir stood up for herself and her female colleagues by reporting sexual harassment in a picture perfect company, but she soon got fired and became national news when suing the firm.
We are in a world where statistics descend into the characters and reveal uncomfortable and surprising truths. People in the streets defining the phenomenon and architectural metaphors of the glass ceiling connect the intimate stories of the women across the world.
