The last horse-riding proprietary tea plantation owner of Darjeeling fights to save his ancestral estate from a complete corporate takeover.

Synopsis

In this changing world driven by money, is it possible to give back as a businessman? Rajah, the owner of a renowned Darjeeling tea plantation called Makaibari has believed for a long time that profit and sustainability could coexist. He tried to build an ideal world where tea could be cultivated in harmony with the environment without using pesticides. Workers were treated with dignity and given the opportunity to flourish. He transformed his 160 years old family business into a biodynamic organic hub where people from all over the world would come to experience and learn.

In 2014, unable to deal with changing political and market dynamics, Rajah goes for a partnership with a big corporation and sells them majority of his shares in Makaibari. Things around Makaibari start to change after that. The new manager employed by his partners frequently defies rajah instructions. The two of them are in constant conflict. Infuriated Rajah tries to gain back control over his estate but the partner forces him to resign. Denying to succumb, Rajah declares gifting his remaining shares to the estate workers of Makaibari. Will this decision save his paradise from turning into a corporate operated plantation like any other?
