Master Class of Editor & Director

Masterclass for Editors & Directors is comprehensive programme about documentary editing on the basis of understanding of editing process, covering thoroughly about process of editing preparation, ways of building the narratives through detailed sequence editing, and guide to communication with directors. This programme is for directors and editors interested in professional editing and collaboration for documentaries. Selected participants can observe the role and territory of professional editors with internationally renowned professional documentary editors, but also share their know-hows of editing.

Anne Fabini
Anne Fabini is the editor of Talal Derki’s documentaries OF FATHERS AND SONS and RETURN TO HOMS, winners of the 2018 and 2014 World Documentary Grand Jury Award at Sundance Film Festival. The fiction films MORRIS FROM AMERICA (dir: Chad Hartigan, 2016) and HOUSTON (dir: Bastian Günther, 2013) also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her editing of the international co-production MORE THAN HONEY (dir. Markus Imhoof, 2012) was highly acclaimed. On Berlin Film Festival competitors ONE DAY in EUROPE (2005) and BERLIN CALLING (2008) she closely collaborated with director Hannes Stöhr. Since 2013 she also works internationally as story and editing consultant. Her work has won her several nominations for Best Film Editing at the German Film Awards. She is winner of the prestigious German Film Critics Award for Best Editing.
Claudio Hughes
After living in Uruguay and Brazil, he settled down in France where he has been editing and consulting for 25 years, as well as in Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Slovakia and the Netherlands.
He speaks fluent English and perfect French, Spanish and Portuguese and has been tutor at IDFA summer school, Cairo film festival, Dok Incubator and Talent Campus.
His work was selected in Cannes, Locarno, IDFA, Sundance, Toronto, Berlin and many other festivals.
